Why "Katalyse"
I don't believe in "give it three months to bed in". I've been sold that line by suppliers and agencies, and it's rubbish. You're not paying me to wait.
I want you to come off your very first call with me thinking: that changed something. Maybe it's a decision you've been putting off. Maybe it's how you look at a problem that's been sitting on your chest for weeks. Maybe it's just that someone finally got it.
Some of what we work on takes time to show up in the numbers. That's business, and I'll never pretend otherwise. But the shift in how you see things? That starts on day one. If you come off a call with me thinking "we'll see what happens", then I haven't done my job.
A real example
Last August we had a dry spell in my cleaning business. One of my lads had three or four days with no work booked, and I was stressing about it. Dead time, wages going out, nothing coming in. Then the frame flipped: this wasn't dead time, it was the training time we'd never been able to find. He spent those days out weed killing on his own. Now he does it without me, permanently, and the business runs better because of four days I'd been dreading.
Nothing about the situation changed. The way I looked at it did. That's what one conversation can do, and it's exactly what I'm here for.
You already know your business better than I ever will. I'm not here to give you a script. I'm here to help you see what you can't see from inside it.
The offer
Someone to actually talk to about your business. Not a course, not a system, not someone telling you what to do. A person who knows business, gets to know yours, and genuinely cares how it's going.
We talk about your business, what's working, what's driving you mad, what you actually want from it. No pitch. If I don't think I can help, I'll tell you.
An hour on whatever's live in your business right now. Getting work in, pricing a job, a staff problem, taking on your first employee. Whatever it is that month.
Something comes up on a Tuesday, send it over. I'll come back to you within a day or so. You don't save your problems up for a monthly slot.
A restaurant's problems aren't an electrician's problems. There's no template here. We work on your business, not a generic one.
I'm capping this at five Founding Partners while I make sure every single client gets my full attention. Founding Partners pay £100 a month, guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months, and get the "In Partnership with Katalyse" badge for their website and socials. When these five spots are gone, the price goes up.
One avoided bad hire, one properly priced job, one problem caught early, and it's paid for itself for the year.
You run a small business, or you're about to start one. You're good at the work but you'd love someone to think things through with. You want honest input, not a lecture. Your business has enough breathing room that £100 a month is an investment, not a stretch.
You want a magic system with guaranteed results. You want someone to do it all for you. You want to be told you're right about everything. I'm with you, not working for you, and definitely not here to nod along.

My story
My dad started a small exterior cleaning business. I worked in it for a while, learning the trade properly, then went and started my own operation in a brand new area. First customer, first van, first everything. That became The Moss Man.
It grew slowly, then faster than I could keep up with, and eventually the two operations merged because between us we needed every pair of hands we had.
None of that was clever. It was graft, a lot of late quotes, and a fair few expensive mistakes I'd love back. I priced jobs wrong for years. I said yes to work I should have turned down. I spent money on marketing I couldn't measure. Nobody was asking me the right questions at the right time, so I found out the slow way.
I've got a Law and Business degree from Warwick, which gave me the theory. Running the business gave me everything the theory misses.
And the biggest thing it gave me is this: when you're inside a business every day, you get tunnel vision. You stare at a problem so long you can only see it one way. Nearly every expensive mistake I made came down to that. And nearly every breakthrough came from something small. A question. A conversation. A different angle that changed how I saw it. Nothing about the problem ever changed. The way I looked at it did.
That's what Katalyse is. The catalyst, not the conclusion. I'm not a guru and I haven't got a system to sell you. I'm another business owner, a bit further down the road, who'll get to know your business properly, ask the questions nobody else is asking you, and be in your corner while you build the thing. You make the decisions. You keep everything you build. I just make sure you're never the only pair of eyes on it.
Our philosophy
Most business advice says the same thing: scale, grow, earn more. Invest in this system, that funnel, this piece of software. Whether you're a week in or ten years in, it's always the same answer.
Here's what nobody tells you: more revenue often just means more stress. A bigger business often means more hours, not less. Chase growth for its own sake and you can spend years building something that takes you further from the life you actually wanted.
I don't think most business owners have a skills problem. You're good at the work. That's never been the issue. The question hardly anyone stops to ask is what you actually want the business to give you. So it grows in whatever direction the next job pulls it, and one day you look up and realise you've built a trap.
The answer is different for everyone. For some it's money and ambition. For some it's time with their kids. For some it's simply doing good work without the chaos. None of those are wrong. But you can only build toward it if you know which one is yours.
My job isn't to hand you a system and tell you to scale. It's to understand you, properly, and help you build a business that works for the life you want. Sometimes that means aiming big. Sometimes it means deliberately staying small. The right answer is whatever is right for you.
Build it around your why. Whether you're on day one or year ten.
No small print games
